General Description:
The role combines preservation of the company’s genetic material (fungi & bacteria), hands-on lab work, and responsibility for ensuring timely laboratory outputs. The position requires a systematic approach, fieldwork capabilities, and a strong background in microbiology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operations of the gene bank: intake, documentation, maintenance, quality assurance and safety protocols
- Support of production processes, including the supply of genetic material and quality control (QC).
- Collaborating with cross-functional departments across the company.
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures aligned with international best practices.
- Performing lab work as needed, including research, preservation, and documentation of findings.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including suppliers and international gene banks.
- Hands-on bench and field work.
Requirements:
- PhD in Life Sciences/ Microbiology or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in sterile work, advanced lab techniques and handling of biological materials (bacteria and fungi).
- Experience with regulatory and licensing processes (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex tasks end to end.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to perform fieldwork.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Ability to read and analyse scientific literature.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and general tech aptitude.
